2023
- Received the 'Best Owlstown Website Award' by The Academic Designer LLC, (Badge).
- Received a partnership seed fund grant ($15,000 over 6 months) as co-lead (Newcastle CI-B) for project entitled "Seeds of growth and healing: Exploring the healing properties of Indigenous native plants" from the University of Newcastle and the University of Waikato (New Zealand).
- Awarded a partnership seed fund grant ($15,000 over 6 months) as part of the chief investigator team (Newcastle CI-E) for project entitled "Enhancing Indigenous cultural capability and student engagement in science and health through collaborative learning and animated videos" from the University of Newcastle and the University of Waikato (New Zealand).
- Received an NSW health early-mid career microbiomics research fellowship ($500,000 over 3 years) as lead chief investigator for research project entitled "Genomic surveillance of bacterial strains causing ear disease and upper respiratory illnesses in Hunter New England children and young people".
- Awarded significant funding ($1,997,629 over 5 years) as part of the chief investigator team (CI-E) for research project entitled "A treatable traits framework for chronic respiratory disease in rural and regional Aboriginal communities" through the MRFF Chronic Respiratory Conditions.
2022
- Awarded research pilot funding ($10,000) as Chief Investigator by the University of Newcastle's College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing.
- Received funding ($5,600) for research services by the Hunter Medical Research Institute, Immune Health program.
2021
- Received the Indigenous STEM professional career achievement award from the CSIRO and BHP Foundation.
- Awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology & Microbiology from the University of Newcastle.
- Received a nomination to attend the University of Newcastle's Celebrating Success event for excellence in science communication.
2020
- Winner of the Top Sharer completion from the University of Newcastle's social media team.
- Nominated for the Work Integrated Learning Staff Member of the Year Award, part of the University of Newcastle's Employability Excellence Awards.
- Received an offer to study a Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (Joint Medical Program) taking place between 2021 - 2025.
2019
- Awarded 1st prize in an image contest from the Society of Leukocyte Biology in celebration of international immunology day, (Video).
- Delivered an oral presentation of my research during the NSW Annual Scientific Meeting for the Australian Society for Medical Research.
- Presented and discussed my research in poster format at the World Congress of Nephrology for the International Society of Nephrology.
2018
- Winner of the month in the Beautiful Science competition from the University of Newcastle, School of Biomedical Sciences & Pharmacy.
- My research was presented in poster format by my supervisor at the International conference on innate lymphoid cells.
- My research was presented in poster format by my supervisor at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian Society for Immunology.
2017
- Graduated with first class honours for Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) from the University of Newcastle.
- Received a government funded scholarship (RTP), including stipend and tuition fee, to undertake a PhD in Immunology & Microbiology taking place between 2018 - 2021.
2016
- Graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from the University of Newcastle.
